Pickleball and pickup basketball top the sports most played at Welland’s Empire Sportsplex since opening just two months ago, says Amanda Degazio, the city’s community services manager.

 

The sprawling sportsplex, in the upper parking lot area of Welland International Flatwater Centre on Townline Tunnel Road, spans 11,200-square-metres and is home to multiple courts that can host pickleball, tennis, basketball, volleyball and more.
