April 22, 2023, Niagara This Week: Amanda DeGazio can’t wait for summer to get started. DeGazio, the City of Welland’s manager of business and community services, is behind the scenes getting ready for the reopening of the Welland Sportsplex with the addition of some new programming at the Shaw Street activity hub.
This year will mark the first full year of activity at the facility, which officially opened last July.
DeGazio is particularly excited about sports camps being offered this summer. As the facility enters its first full year of operation, it is fresh from being honoured by Parks and Recreation Ontario with a facility design award.
