One of the park’s main features is the Reedy Creek Nature Center and Preserve, which includes educational exhibits and several miles of hiking trails that wind through the park. Dog owners will be happy to know Reedy Creek Dog Park is near both our communities. Located within Reedy Creek Park, this dog park features over 4 acres of fenced play space for dogs. There’s separate areas for dogs depending on their size, as well as a communal dog drinking fountain and waste disposal stations.

If you’re looking for outdoor fun, the Charlotte Motor Speedway is a must-visit. The speedway is a 1.5-mile quad-oval track and is known for hosting some of the biggest races in NASCAR, including the Coca-Cola 600 and the Bank of America Roval 400. In addition to NASCAR races, the speedway also hosts a variety of other events during the year, such as the annual Charlotte Auto Fair and the Carolina Rebellion music festival.

Golf lovers will appreciate the Charles T. Myers Golf Course, which is just a short drive away from Kennington. Known for its well-manicured fairways and challenging greens, it’s a favorite among golfers of all skill levels. The par-72 course stretches over 6,700 yards and features four sets of tees, allowing players to customize their game to their skill level.

For a taste of the farm life, check out Hodges Family Farm which offers fresh produce, a pumpkin patch, and other seasonal events. This farm has been operational for over 100 years, and has become a popular destination for families or visitors looking for a fun and educational experience. It’s open to the public for seasonal events such as pumpkin picking, selecting Christmas trees, and Easter egg hunts.

Speed Down a Waterslide

One of Camellia Gardens’ nearby attractions is the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, featuring a massive indoor water park with numerous water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and other water-based attractions. In addition to the water park, Great Wolf Lodge offers a variety of land-based activities such as ropes courses, mini golf, an arcade, and a kids’ spa. The resort also has several dining options, including a buffet restaurant, a pizza place, and a dessert shop.

See Your Favorite Artist

Music lovers will appreciate PNC Music Pavilion which hosts performances throughout the year. This popular outdoor music venue has a capacity of 19,500, featuring both covered and open-air seating, making it a beloved destination for concerts and events.

Go For a Stroll

For those who love spending time outdoors, there are several parks in the area, including Harrisburg Park and Stallings Road Park. Harrisburg Park is a large community park that offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors, including baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, splash pad, and walking trails. Stallings Road Park is a smaller neighborhood park that offers a playground, picnic area, and walking trails. Both are well-maintained and offer a great opportunity for residents of Harrisburg to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise.

Sharpen Your Skills

If you’re a golfer, the Rocky River Golf Club will be your go-to spot to spend weekends. This 18-hole golf course opened in 1997, and features rolling fairways, undulating greens, and challenging water hazards, making it a favorite among golfers of all skill levels. In addition to its golf course, Rocky River Golf Club also offers a driving range, putting green, and a pro shop.

Spruce Up Your Wardrobe

Concord Mills Mall is the largest shopping and entertainment destination in the Charlotte region, featuring over 200 stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The mall offers a variety of high-end and mainstream retailers, including Nike, Michael Kors, and Coach. The mall is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike, thanks to the wide range of shopping and entertainment options for all ages.
