The restaurant scene in the Carolinas hardly ever disappoints and what many people don’t know is that there are a few celebrity-owned restaurants across the states. From world-renowned chefs to families of famous artists, we’re giving you a run-down of 4 of the best celebrity-owned places to try.

1. The Fox and The Falcon by David Burke in Charlotte, NC

David Burke is a world renowned chef, founder of the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse brand and now owner of The Fox and The Falcon. When he’s not in the kitchen creating new culinary dishes that wow, he’s being featured on television stations including Bravo’s Top Chef Masters and the Today Show. Now a two-time James Beard nominee, he’s also the author of Cooking with David Burke and David Burke’s New American Classics.

2. Nellie’s Southern Kitchen in Belmont, NC

Kevin Sr. and Denise Jonas have managed their sons careers ever since they started out in the entertainment industry. Years later, they moved back to their home in Belmont, NC and decided to open a restaurant in honor of Kevin’s grandmother. As to be expected from a musical family, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen restaurant offers live music nightly from Wednesday through to Saturday night. While Nick, Joe and Kevin Jr. aren’t always in town to visit, they do stop by from time to time. Who knows — you could be sitting beside a real-life Jonas Brother next time you drop by.

3. Wahlburgers in Myrtle Beach, SC

If you couldn’t tell from its name, Wahlburgers is a burger lover’s dream. This fast-casual restaurant chain was created by the Wahlberg family including celebrities Mark and Donnie, and their chef brother Paul. If the name sounds familiar, you’ve probably seen them on A&E with their own hit, Emmy-nominated reality show that keeps them busy when they aren’t on the grill. While the brothers have over 25 locations to date, this is their one and only location in the Carolinas.

4. Death & Taxes in Raleigh, NC

A contemporary restaurant that is “dedicated to the technique of cooking with wood fire”, Death & Taxes is one of Ashley Christensen‘s 5 restaurants in Raleigh, NC. As an American chef, restaurant owner, author and culinary celebrity, she has received a number of accolades throughout her career including the James Beard award for Outstanding Chef in 2019, and Best Chef Southeast in 2014 and 2017. If you’re eager to taste her culinary delights, choose which of her restaurants you prefer and make a reservation for lunch, dinner or drinks.
