1. Downtown Fort Mill

Whether you want to shop from an array of local boutiques, try a new restaurant or even catch a play, the towns of Fort Mill and Ballantyne are brimming with charm and home to a host of things to do. For one of the hottest local attractions — literally! — be sure to visit Puckerbutt Pepper Company in Fort Mill, which is where you’ll find a series of hot sauces, snacks and the world’s hottest pepper.

2. Fort Mill Golf Club

10 minutes from Enclave at Massey

One of the benefits to calling the Carolinas home is that you can experience golf at its finest — and one of the best courses around is the Fort Mill Golf Club. An 18-hole championship course, Fort Mill opened in 1959 and has since been a favorite among local golfers who can’t resist the lush lawns and beautiful tree-lined landscapes.

3. Anne Springs Close Greenway

Opened in 1995 and home to over 2,100 acres of lakes, forests and pastures, the Anne Springs Close Greenway provides a beautiful nature escape for families to hike, bike, kayak, practice yoga, fish, horseback ride and so much more.

4. Kingsley Town Center

15 minutes from Enclave at Massey

A new shopping strip that’s just a few miles south of Uptown, Kingsley Town Center is home to a variety of shopping opportunities, great restaurants and a small waterfront that’s perfect for strolling along. The shopping center was inspired by Fort Mill’s historic roots, and is complete with a smokestack and street names that echo that history, including ‘Textile Way’ and ‘Broadcloth Street.’

5. Lake Haigler Loop

15 minutes from Enclave at Massey

A 5.3 mile pedestrian-only trail loop, Lake Haigler is a scenic trail that’s characterized by towering pine trees, beautiful views of the lake and a variety of wildlife that can be found along the water. With few inclines, declines and stairs, the trail is a great option for families with young kids and pets.

6. Carowinds Amusement Park

19 minutes from Enclave at Massey

From incredible thrills to the ultimate waterpark chills, Carowinds Amusement Park is where Carolinians have been flocking to for family-friendly fun for more than 45 years. Visit to try more than 60 world-class rides, make a splash at the waterpark, partake in a special event or watch a live entertainment show. The park is also home to an on-site hotel and campground for those who want to turn their stay into a fun weekend getaway.

7. Canaan Zipline Company

22 minutes from Enclave at Massey

Adventure seekers will relish the chance to visit the Canaan Zipline Company, which is home to camps, retreats and programs for families — as well as a series of nine zipline tours that take you back and forth over the Catawba River.

8. Glencairn Garden

An 11-acre paradise located in the heart of Rock Hill, Glencairn Garden is a popular destination for locals who want to take in a variety of blooms year-round, including azaleas, wisteria, dogwoods and camellias. The garden is also home to the 10-day Come See Me Festival, which happens each April and draws in over 100,000 attendees who come for live music, fun and more to celebrate the start of spring.

9. Museum of York County

22 minutes from Enclave at Massey

Bring the whole family for a day of fun and learning at the Museum of York County, which includes a Tot Town for young visitors, a planetarium for lovers of the cosmos, and countless award-winning exhibitions and programs that explore a variety of natural history topics. And for those who also want to spend some time among nature, the museum is also home to a 3/4 mile trail loop that includes a shaded picnic area.

10. SouthTown Wake Park

27 minutes from Enclave at Massey

If you’ve ever wanted to try wakeboarding, then you’ll love the quick commute to SouthTown Wake Park in Rock Hill. The park is home to two lakes and multiple programs for riders of all skill levels, as well as an Aqua Park for those who want to enjoy the water on paddle boards, kayaks and outdoor games, including an obstacle course.
