Empire launches "So You Look Like A Movie Star?" contest

TORONTO, ONTARIO - JULY 18, 2008 - Today, Empire Communities in partnership with Bell kicked off the “So You Look Like A Movie Star?” contest at Ultra Supper Club, 314 Queen Street West. This unique contest will launch Empire Communities’ remarkable new Fly Condos that will rise on Front Street, between Blue Jays Way and Spadina, in downtown Toronto.

The competition is an opportunity for movie star look-alikes to translate their looks into winning the Grand Prize - $75,000 toward the purchase of a Fly condominium suite. Empire Executive Vice President, Paul Golini Jr. says, "This out-of-the-box marketing program was designed to speak directly to our target market through social networking forums that resonate with them. The concept is to create excitement about Fly Condos among our primary target market and to create an opportunity to promote the glamour of the lifestyle at Fly, which will be located close to the renowned theatres, clubs and restaurants of this great city."

In order to win, contestants have to participate in the "So You Look Like A Movie Star?" contest that will be conducted online via a dedicated website, soyoulooklikeamoviestar.com

To enter, contestants need to upload a photo of themselves and tag it with the name of the movie star they most resemble. Each entrant will be provided with a link to post on their profile on social networking sites such as Facebook that they can then use to connect with friends and the public in order to generate votes. Visitors to the contest website will be able to vote for each contestant, and assign a rating based on the resemblance.

The top one hundred people with the highest score will be invited to a Red Carpet Finalist Gala to be held on August 28, 2008

Celebrity look-alikes joined Bell’s Vice President of Marketing for Multi-Dwelling Units & New Construction Donald McKenzie and Empire’s Director of Sales & Marketing High-Rise Christine Brennan and Executive Vice President Paul Golini Jr. at the recent contest kick-off held at Ultra Supper Club

Empire Communities is no stranger to unique marketing approaches and successes, such as the almost overnight sell-out of its Beyond The Sea condominium community located on the Etobicoke waterfront. Christine Brennan, Director of Sales and Marketing, High-Rise says, "There is a lot of competition downtown, and this program will truly distinguish Fly. At Empire, we continue to do things that are cutting edge. Fly will be a landmark building with approximately 400 suites, and we have designed it to embody a great boutique feeling that speaks to the lifestyle of young urbanites and savvy empty nesters alike."
